As the second installment of photo essays for our new microsite Every Picture Tells A Story, we would like to introduce you to photographer Jon Polka the the people of Nicaragua.
Our Blue Planet Network community asked for more stories about the
work of our Network members and the communities struggling for safe
drinking water. As a result, a few weeks ago we launched
"Every Picture Tells A Story" in partnership with
PhotoPhilanthropy,
a great organization that identifies photographers interested in contributing
their skills to help non-profits around the world.
The images, reports and short interviews from Jon highlight the work
of our member, El Porvenir in Nicaragua. We hoped to connect our
donors and fundraising community with the faces of real people whose
lives have changed for the better with something as simple, yet powerful,
as water. Jon and Jodi and Tristan Moss, featured last month, have done
just that. Their photographs are beautiful and full of life. Please enjoy them,
be inspired and share this important microsite with your friends.
